Important Dams in Odisha

1. Hirakud Dam- Hirakud Dam is that the longest major material dam in Asia, designed across the Mahanadi watercourse in Sambalpur district.

2. Jalaput Dam- Jalaput electricity dam is constructed on the Machkund watercourse at the borderline between province and Odisha.

3. Mandira Dam- Mandira Dam is constructed across the Sankha watercourse close to Kansbahal in Sundergarh district, located at a distance of about 25 kilometers from Rourkela.

4. Patora Dam- Patora dam is constructed across Jonk River and one of the famous location in Nuapada district along with nearby places Nrusinghanath Temple, Harishankar Temple and Bull Yogeswar temple.

5. Rengali Dam- Rengali dam is built across Brahmani watercourse and power plant is located close to the village of Rengali of Talcher in Angul district. This multi-purpose dam has the second largest reservoir in Odisha and therefore the project was designed for irrigation, power, barrage and canal system.

Important Dams in West Bengal

1. Durgapur Barrage- Durgapur Barrage is across the Damodar watercourse at Bankura in Bankura district.
2. Farakka Barrage- Farakka Barrage Project with headquarters at Farakka in Murshidabad district of West Bengal is a subordinate office under the Union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation. The Farakka Barrage Project Authority was created in 1961.
3. Mukutmanipur Dam- The Mukutmanipur Dam may be a dam in Khatra subdivision of Bankura district. It is placed at the confluence of the Kangsabati and Kumari rivers on the brink of the Jharkhand border.

Important Dams in Bihar

1. Indrapuri Barrage- Indrapuri Barrage is across the Son watercourse in Rohtas district within the Indian state of state.
2. Kosi embankment- The Kosi embankments were in-built the late Nineteen Fifties to retain the Kosi watercourse that may be a transboundary watercourse between Asian country and Asian country.

Important Dams in Jharkhand

1. Getalsud Dam- Getalsud Dam is a man-made reservoir located in Ormanjhi, Ranchi, Jharkhand. It was made across the Subarnarekha watercourse and was opened in 1971.
2. Chandil Dam- Chandil may be a census city in Seraikela Kharsawan district. It has been constructed on the river Subernarekha.
3. Konar Dam- Konar dam is that the second of the four multi-purpose dams enclosed within the initial section of the Damodar natural depression Corporation. It was constructed across the Konar River.
4. Tilaiya Dam- Tilaiya Dam was {the initial|the primary} of the four multi-purpose dams enclosed within the first section of the Damodar natural depression Corporation. It was made across the Barakar watercourse, at Tilaiya in Koderma district within the Indian state of Jharkhand and opened in 1953.
